Generally, fats are needed by your body. Fat is required for the formation of vital parts of your cells and for cushioning the vital organs as well.  There are two kinds of fat—good (HDL) and bad (LDL). HDL means high density lipoproteins. These are what you should always take in so that your cholesterol level may be lowered and so that you may be able to have good circulation and a good storage of energy. LDL or low density lipoproteins are the bad fats that you should keep away from because these are the culprits when it comes to very poor health. Not only will you have undesirable curves, but also diseases of the heart, blood vessels, and liver, among others.
LDLs are composed of trans fats and saturated fats. HDLs are comprised of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. Fatty foods are great of they contain the good kind. This way, you could still eat your salad and dressing without feeling guilty. Here is a list of fatty foods  that you should really avoid:
1. Dairy
Dairy products are included in the list of fatty foods. Yes, you cannot live without dairy products but you should opt for healthier ones that are low-fat or non-fat. But be careful in the frequency of taking them because these products are higher in sugar to compensate for the reduction in fat. You should just take them in less frequently or in proper portions even if they are low-fat or non-fat. Learn to take time in examining labels and alternatives of butter, cream, milk, ice cream, and yogurt. There are full-fat dairy products that are indeed packed with flavor but the heavier they are, the more fat they contain.
2. Meats
In the list of fatty foods, regular meat products are included. It is also a principle in the meat world that fat incorporates more flavor in every bite. Fat also retains more moisture in the meat when you cook it. Organ meats are also very high in fat but they do taste heavenly especially when cooked right. So, you should be aware that healthier and leaner alternatives to your favorite meats are available in the market. They can be cooked in such a way that they will remain moist and flavorful. You should aim for meat and meat products that have below than 35% fat content. They shouldn’t have saturated fats as well. If you do this, you will be able to lower your cholesterol levels and reduce your weight. You should avoid processed meats, pork fat, beef, chicken fat, and veal. Beef may look lean even if you trim it but focus on the marbling. The marbling tells you about the fat content of the beef slice. The more marbling, the more fat it contains.
3. Oils
Here, butter, palm oil, coconut oil, and shortening should be avoided. They are included in the list of fatty foods because they are packed with trans and saturated fat. Try to stick to healthier oils such as olive oil, canola oil, or corn oil so that you may be able to tone down your cholesterol levels much faster. Some oils are even fortified with Omega 3 fatty acids so they are really good for your body. Adding butter to your eggs indeed increases the level of flavor but be aware of the detriment that this gives you.
4. Fast food
So many people choose fast food instead of home-cooked meals because of the convenience and the short time of waiting. In a matter of minutes, you could have your cheeseburger, soda, Â sundae, and fries. These are very high in fat. From fries to burger, you could get at least 35 percent of fat and tons of calories. These are definitely part of the list of fatty foods that you should learn to cut off from your daily diet.
5. Pastries
It is always a treat to have pastries around. They are common solutions for sugar fixes and energy boosts especially if you’re in a hurry. But you should remember that pastries are combinations of various ingredients that have high fat content. The list of fatty foods for pastries is comprised of doughnuts, crackers, cookies, junk food, cakes, and candy.
Remember to make an effort in eliminating the items that belong to the list of fatty foods. Discipline and responsibility in choosing the right foods is very important. If you enforce these, surely, you will have a healthier, leaner body that would benefit you well. Cooperate with your doctor or dietician well so that you may be guided in your diet and health.
